Quesadilla Maker

I got a Quesadilla maker from my mom for Christmas. Originally I liked the idea, but didn't think I would ever use it. Like most appliances it would end up buried in some cabinet and forgotten for several years. The first few times using it, the quesadillas tasted like plastic, but that went away. Now I use it almost every day, get home from class and want some to eat, or up late studying just throw the stuff in there and come back in 5 minutes. The main materials; tortillas, and cheese are on sale almost every week in one form or another. One thing I have figured out is how to have small amounts of meat I could put in there, maybe cook it, cut it into single serving and then freeze?

I couldn't find any links to it, maybe it got discontinued, can't imagine there is much variety in them though.

  2. Lol I got one from my mom too. I usually put some type of lunch meat on mine. It's less "mexican" but it's pretty good too!

  9. Maybe when you're cooking meat, do enough for the next two days, then put it in the fridge. I'd worry about freezing already cooked meat, it seems like it would get freezer burn or something.

  10. I stopped buying my mom appliances a long time ago. She just piles them up in a cabinet in her kitchen along with the George Forman grill and the Thousands of slapchops!

  11. Probably the easiest meet to prepare is a boneless chicken breast. Which happens to be found pretty often in quesadillas already (I wonder why). Chop one or two up, bake it in the oven or fry it on the stove, and store it away.

  12. Didn't know there was such a thing as a quesadilla maker. I would just make it on the stove or in the oven. Or over the BBQ in the summer.

  13. As long as you wrap it well, freezing meat works out fine. Adding a little water to it when reheating also helps.

  17. This sounds too simple for me. If I don't take a good hour making it, stressing over it, sweating and cursing along the way, then it's not a rewarding enough meal! Tonight was Thai mussel soup followed by Duck legs in plum & ginger sauce over noodles :)

  19. I'm not really into latin food (unless it's that delicious roasted pig). But I do like the sound of a device which makes cooking easier and saves time, etc.
